Crescent Yamaha have announced their plans for 2020 in the UK with their British Motocross Championship team. 2019 saw Jake Shipton and Martin Barr line up for the team at the Maxxis British Motocross Championship and MX Nationals UK.

Now Jake Shipton will run as the only Official Yamaha UK supported rider on the all new YZ450F.

The team will compete at the season opener at Hawkstone International on February 9th ahead of the first round of the ACU British Motocross Championship in March.

Jake Shipton – Crescent Yamaha YZ450F – MX1: “I’m very excited to be staying with Crescent Yamahafor another year and extending our partnership and friendship. I had a strong 2019 with good performances, now I’m looking to take it to the next level, fighting to be up front each and every weekend. Crescent and Yamaha UK give me that confidence and they believe in me which I’m grateful for. I really appreciate this opportunity and not going to let it slip, after riding the new 2020 YZ450F it’s clear that the bike is a good step forward – we have a solid base and I’m looking forward to spending more time on the bike and getting ready for the first races.”

Paul Denning – Managing Director, Crescent Yamaha: “Motocross is ultimately the reason that Crescent Yamaha has become a professional Racing Team in the WorldSBK Championship – if I hadn’t started racing at 7 years old and if that passion hadn’t translated across to the asphalt later on then none of it would have happened! At Crescent Yamaha, MX is still both a big part of our personal lifestyle and of our business. As such, it’s a pleasure to be able to continue to put something back into the sport and for 2020, with Jake riding the much-improved YZ450F in an improved team structure, we are targeting the next step in his performance and to contend with the very best in the British series.”
