Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing announced the addition of veteran Shane McElrath to its talented roster, beginning with the 2020 season. The two-time winner in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship previously competed for Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM from the moment he turned pro at the tail end of the 2013 season. During his six seasons of full-time competition in the 250 Class, McElrath has claimed a pair of victories, at the 2018 Tennessee National and the 2019 Budds Creek National. He’s amassed six career podium finishes, with a best championship finish of fifth coming in 2018.

McElrath will join this season’s 250 Class runner-up, Dylan Ferrandis, third-place finisher, Justin Cooper, and Colt Nichols.
