The Thor British Youth Nationals is entering the closing stages of the 2017 season and the action is certainly hotting up as the series heads south to Landrake Moto Parc, Saltash on August 19-20, for the penultimate championship round.

With just two events remaining, the intense action across all of the races this so far will set the scene for the UK’s most elite youth racers, as the fight for points continues to determine their final championship positions.

Landrake Moto Parc is a fast and flowing circuit yet at the same time a very technical track, incorporating old-school features such as adverse cambers and natural terrain, combined with man-made jumps and a rhythm section to add to the excitement for riders and spectators.

The circuit has been used for rounds of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship in the past along with many other national events. It’s a track where many famous names have competed over the last few decades such as three time world champion Dave Thorpe, British champion Tommy Searle & former GP favourite Josh Coppins.

The championship has provided some excellent racing in 2017 with the stars of tomorrow battling it out on 65cc to 250cc machines at a number of venues throughout the UK. At present riders Wal Beaney, Alfie Jones, Dominic Lancett, Rossi Beard and Howard Wainwright lead each of their respective championship classes, and will be looking to continue their form into the next round before the 2017 season finale at Pontrilas on September 2 & 3 where those victorious will be crowned champions.

Gareth Hockey, Director of RHL Activities, which organises the Thor British Youth National series, commented: “Landrake Moto Parc is a new track for the Thor British Youth Nationals and it’s certainly an event I really can’t wait to see our riders line-up at, as we head into the final rounds of the 2017 season. This championship is really the foundation for future stars of the sport, and we look forward to seeing them battle it out at Landrake.”
