There was a new twist to the race program at Anaheim 2. The three-main event format, known as the Triple Crown, was the first out of three scheduled in the series. Last week’s winner, Aaron Plessinger started mid-pack, which made it challenging for him to get by on the one-lined track. He went six-four-seven and finished sixth overall. Oldenburg podiumed the first main, with a third-place finish. He then went on to finish six-six in the last two mains and took fifth overall.

The Triple Crown really changed up the points standings from the previous round. Aaron Plessinger now lies third in the Championship, with just a two-point deficit on second. Mitchell Oldenburg moves up one spot, from seventh to sixth.

Glendale, AZ, will be host the fourth round of the Monster Energy Supercross Series, which will take place on January 27, 2018.
