Nearly 50 years after Yamaha won the first of its many World Motocross Championships, Yamaha riders keep demonstrating their bikes’ race-winning performances, already claiming numerous podiums during this 2021 season in MXGP, MX2 and across the ocean in AMA 450 and 250 Motocross classes. And Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing riders dominated both the 2021 250 SX East and West Championships aboard of their YZ250F machines.

For 2022 Yamaha shows its total and enduring commitment to every category in Motocross with the launch of an all-new lighter and more powerful YZ125, along with major upgrades for the YZ250 and YZ85 models.

YZ125

All-new YZ125: 2-stroke evolution

Featuring an all-new higher performance 125cc 2-stroke engine as well as sharper, more compact bodywork, improved ergonomics, higher performance brakes and refined KYB suspension, the YZ125 is the ultimate choice for tomorrow’s professional rider.

Equipped with a new Keihin powerjet carburettor and a redesigned YPVS for stronger mid to high rpm power with improved useability, this lightweight and compact unit is the most competitive 125cc motocross engine ever built by Yamaha. A flatter seat and slimmer bodywork enhance rider mobility – and an all-new high efficiency air intake contributes towards the new bike’s holeshot-winning acceleration.

This new YZ125 will be available in two colour choices: Icon Blue duo-tone bodywork with new in-mould graphics – and for riders who want the factory look, there’s an all-new YZ125 Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition for 2022.

YZ250

New YZ250: 2 Strokes. First place.
