Team Netherlands have been forced into changing their line-up ahead of the 2024 Motocross of Nations, as Glenn Coldenhoff has been drafted in to replace the injured Calvin Vlaanderen.
Having suffered a knee injury at the MXGP of The Netherlands, which also saw him miss the latest round in Switzerland, Vlaanderen and his team have made the tough decision to sit out the showpiece.
Given he’s enjoyed previous individual and team success at the prestigious event, the selection of Coldenhoff makes perfect sense. Moreover, the fact the experienced Dutchman recently won the qualification race at his home GP in Arnhem adds to what a fine rider he is to bring in.
With three rounds of MXGP remaining before linking up with Jeffrey Herlings and Kay de Wolf at Matterley Basin, the Dutch will still head in as one of the favourites even though losing Vlaanderen is a blow.
