With the motocross season getting into full swing the Woodbridge and DMCC are preparing for an exciting and action-packed year ahead at their Blaxhall venue. During the 2018 season the Woodbridge club will be hosting four Motocross events including a round of the prestigious Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean on May 6th.

The first meeting of the season will take place on Sunday 25th March as the club host the opening round of the Bickers Lifting ACU Eastern Motocross Championship for both Expert and Junior classes. After reclaiming the title in 2017, club member Luke Benstead will be looking to defend his crown onboard the GH Motorcycles/GB Finch Husqvarna against the tough competition from former champion and team mate Luke Parker while the likes of Jake Nicholls, Lewis Tombs, Shaun Southgate and Declan Whittle will all be challenging for race wins. With entries already open for this event and the Junior spaces selling out within less than an hour it is sure to be a great start to the season.

After being awarded ‘Maxxis Organiser of the Year’ for the second year running at Blaxhall the club are pleased to be hosting the fourth round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean on Sunday May 6th. For this year the event will feature extra races with the inclusion of both the Maxxis MXY2 and the ACU British 2 Stroke Championship alongside the Maxxis MX1 and MX2 classes. With Grand Prix riders from across the World, including countries such as Italy, Iceland, Estonia, Russia and New Zealand competing against Britain’s best World and European talent, along with some of the best home-grown riders. With four championship classes and nine races of highly competitive racing it will be a great day out for the whole family. Local front runners will include Jake Nicholls (Ipswich), and Elliott Banks-Browne (Bury St Edmunds) who will both compete in front of their home crowd alongside other local stars such as Lewis Tombs, Shaun Southgate and George Grigg-Pettitt.

Following the Maxxis the club will be hosting an open meeting on July 8th which will feature both Experts and Juniors along with a round of the NGR Championship for riders Over 30 years old. Also for 2018 the club will be running a combined 85cc class for Big and Small Wheel riders.

The final meeting of the year will be on the Sunday 30th September, when the club will host the sixth and final round of the Bickers Lifting ACU Eastern Motocross Championship. With just a handful of races left in both the Expert and Junior classes the racing will be close as the Champions are crowned on the day.
