After a one-year absence, the popular Appin track near Sydney will be returning to the Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) calendar in 2025, hosting round two on Sunday, April 13. Words: ProMX

Appin’s elevation back into the national ProMX framework will be music to the ears of motocross enthusiasts in a major population hub of NSW, with the track located just 75km south-west of the Sydney CBD and a 15-minute drive from Campbelltown.

The last ProMX round held around the 1.65km 20-turn Appin track was on a sweltering Sunday in March 2023, but the searing heat only proved to be of minor nuisance value as all the championship classes delivered edge-of-the-seat action with Aaron Tanti (MX1), Nathan Crawford (MX2) and Ky Woods (MX3) coming out on top.

Prior to the creation of the ProMX Championship, Appin also hosted Australian Motocross Championship rounds in a region which has been a perennial pipeline for producing motorcycle racing champions across all disciplines.

The 2025 Appin ProMX round will be run by the Macarthur Motorcycle Club.

Meanwhile, Wonthaggi will host the 2025 ProMX Championship opener on March 22-23, with the balance of the calendar to be announced shortly as well as the class composition at each round.

Motorcycling Australia CEO, Peter Doyle: “I am delighted that ProMX is returning to Appin, not just for the track’s historical connection to motocross but also the layout: it’s expansive and one where riders can really stretch their legs. And I know the Macarthur Motorcycle Club will again prepare a superb track, which means that April 13 is shaping up as a celebrated ProMX return.”
