The Arenacross Tour presented by Fix Auto UK has successfully completed four of its six-round British Arenacross Championship.
It enjoyed sell out shows at the SSE Arena, Belfast and P&J Live Aberdeen and is on course to do the same this weekend at The Resorts World Arena, NEC, Birmingham.
Thus far, the spectators in the packed arenas have been the first in the UK to witness 20 of Britain’s best Pro motocross riders battling it out for the chance to be crowned the first-ever officially sanctioned British Arenacross Champion. This official title isn’t just for the Pro riders though, as the honour is extended across all six classes, right down to the very youngest competitors – some from as young as six-years-of-age – contesting the all-electric British AX-E5 Championship.
With just one point separating the leading protagonists, namely reigning British MX2 Champion Conrad Mewse, Crendon Fastrack Honda Racing, and reigning British MX1 Champion Tommy Searle, GTCi Revo Kawasaki, this championship is going to the wire!
Two new faces join the Arenacross ranks for the fourth round. Straight back from racing AMA Supercross in the States, Dylan Woodcock takes over the Kawasaki slot vacated by injured Chris Bayliss, while Nev Bradshaw will contest the Pro Am class on a 125cc 2-stroke.
Away from the racing, visitors to both city arenas were treated to foyer activities including a Traxxas radio controlled ‘monster’ car have-a-go lap, displays of the KTM, Husqvarna, and GASGAS electric E5 bike range, rider autograph sessions, food and drink outlets and merchandise sales. Then, once the T-shirt cannons and Mexican waves had been executed, the emotive show-opening, complete with pyros, lasers and heart-pumping soundtrack, was followed by a burst of Traxxas Freestyle MX activity and best whip competition featuring Europe’s best beat-boxing FMX-er Spaniard Edgar Torronteras, and the leading British FMX trick specialists Jamie Squibb, Dan Whitby, Arran Powley, Josh Morris and Ryan Powley.
