Will Haddock had an unlucky 2018 season following an injury, which saw him sit part of the motocross season out. Will is now back fighting fit and went out at Culham for the opening round of the Judd KTM British Youth Championship showing everyone he is back and ready to battle for the British Championship titles.

Culham saw Will have a positive start to his 2019 career where he ended up in 4thoverall in the British Small Wheel 85cc Championship and leads the British Rookie Championship. With Pontrilas just around the corner we caught up with Will to talk about 2018 and the coming season.

Can you tell us a bit about the 2018 season?

“My 2018 season went very bad, I had a hard season that I had to fight through and just get on with it but it just didn’t work. I am now an improved rider who is hoping for good things. I missed a round in 2018 and was out for 12 weeks in a wheelchair, which was really hard. The year 2018 was full of bad things that we just move on from.”

2019 is your first year in the British Small Wheel 85cc Championship. Can you tell us how it feels to be racing in the class?

“Riding in the Small Wheel 85cc class against all the big lads is tough but I just have to be strong and battle hard this year.”

Round one you walked away in fourth in the British Small Wheel 85cc Championship. How was the opening round for you?

“Round one went very well. The highlight of the weekend was where I won most of my races in the rookie class it just made me believe more in myself.”

We head to Pontrilas for the second round. What are you thoughts on the track and what are your hopes for the weekend?

“Pontrilas is a great track that I am really looking forward to racing at. I am hoping for a top 3 in the rookie class and a top 5 in the Championship.”

Finally looking across the 2019 calendar for the Judd KTM British Youth Championship. Which is your favourite track and why?

“My favourite track on the calendar is Desertmartin because it has huge jumps and just an awesome weekend the layout is amazing.”
