2022 is shaping up to be a great year for British Womens Motocross as the BWMA/AMCA LA Motor Company British Womens Motocross Championships rider list is published boasting a full gate of 36 riders taking to the line in the Adult Ladies Class.

With 8 rounds at some of the UK’s top tracks, the Adult Ladies will be qualifying over the first four rounds to reach the prestigious Elite Ladies Pro-Class Championship where title sponsor LA Motor Company have put a prize fund of £3000 for the girls to chase as well as the honour of being one of representing TEAM GB in the 2023 IMBA European Ladies Championship. Only 10 girls will make it into the Pro-Class, the rest will compete in the last four rounds in the National Ladies Championship.

Riders to look out for will be 3x’s British Womens Motocross Champion Chelsea Gowland racing under the four7 Racing banner, she will be determined to make it four in a row but will face stiff competition from New Zealander Roma Edwards, over to the UK to compete in the British Womens MX Championships as well as selected GP’s. Last years runner up Tanisha Thomas now on a more powerful 250cc two stroke will be hoping that will be enough to close the gap on Gowland, whereas back from injury, Cath King, the only girl to take two race wins from Gowland will be hoping to push her all the way. We now have two 85cc Youth Champions coming through the ranks to challenge for the Pro-Class spots, 2019 Champion Jaysi Austin who pushed the top 3 in 2021 will be hoping for more of the same and 2021 Champion Team Green Kawasakis Beanie Reece on her first season on the big bike will looking to break into the Pro-Class in 2022 along with Rheana Morgan-Rogers who competed in the AMCA Youth Championship and took the last few rounds of the BWMA by storm winning every race showing incredible potential and speed, what can she do on a 125?

With last years Champion and runner up Beanie Reece and Amber McGregor both moving up to the Adult Ladies Class the field is wide open in the 85cc Youth Girls class and this is anybodies championship. Leah Rees-Evans, a race winner, has the speed but inconsistency and injury robbed her of better results, but this year could be the year it comes together. Ellie Davidson is also a super talented and determined rider in with a chance. Millie Sweeney is probably the most consistent from 2021 and confident that this could be her year but also when Holly Williams put her mind to it she is a front runner, the experience of last year could make her a more permanent front runner, Northern Irelands Checoby Rainey will be looking to make 2022 her year, following winter training in Spain and some great results in 2021, not forgetting the two time 65cc Rising Stars Champion Poppy Banning moving up for her first year on the 85’s, she could upset a few riders as she improves on the 85. This is one of the most exciting classes you will see with so many girls in with a chance.

We are so pleased to have Wulfsport supporting our 65cc Rising Stars Championship with LA Motor Company, these girls are the future of Womens Motocross and with last years 2 times Champion Poppy Banning moving up to the 85’s the championship is open to a new young star. Last year saw both Grace Adshead and Meghan Williams take race wins so the battle at the moment looks like it will be between these two.
