Regrettably, the second qualifying session at Southwick resulted in Casey Cochran missing both motos due to a dislocated shoulder sustained in a crash. He had previously recorded the ninth-fastest time of the morning and is now scheduled to undergo additional evaluation of his injury this week. Words: Live Motocross Editor
Despite the fact that he was still in the process of regaining his full race form following a broken leg, which forced him to sit out all of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, Cochran achieved overall finishes of 12, 11, seven and eight in his first four Pro Motocross rounds, demonstrating many glimpses of speed and skill.
“It was very unfortunate that Casey crashed during qualifying, resulting in a dislocated shoulder. He’s shown great potential so far this motocross season, and it’s tough to see him have to sit out at Southwick. We’re grateful to the Alpinestars medical crew for doing their best to get his shoulder back in safely. Casey will undergo an MRI next week and we’re hoping to have a clearer picture of the injury by the middle of the week,” explained Sean Murphy, Rockstar Energy GASGAS Factory Racing Team Manager.
Currently sitting 14th in the 250 standings, Cochran will be hoping for a smooth recovery as he looks to return to action soon and continue building momentum.
