Standing Construct KTM is delighted to announce the signing of current Red Bull KTM Factory rider Glenn Coldenhoff. The agreement will see the twenty-seven-year-old Dutchman race the MXGP World Championship onboard a Standing Construct KTM450SX-F for the next two years, through to 2020.
Having raced on a Standing Construct KTM in the MX2 World Championship back in 2013 where he celebrated a number of milestone achievements, such as his first ever podium finish in MX2, which he followed up with his first ever Grand Prix win at the British Grand Prix in Matterley Basin, Coldenhoff is excited to make a welcomed return to a team he has confidence in, and to remain with the winning manufacturer, KTM.
Coldenhoff is widely considered to be a top-five contender in the premier class, MXGP. Since his inception into the class, back in 2015, the Dutchman has already produced some strong results. He quickly established himself as a GP winner when he won the Grand Prix of Latvia in his rookie season. A result that he has followed up with a further four podium finishes.
The 2018 FIM MXGP World Championship is a hotly contested affair. It is also the most diverse motocross series in the world as it takes place in fifteen different countries and covers every style of track known to man. With twelve rounds of twenty already complete, Coldenhoff is currently in seventh position in the 2018 MXGP World Championship Classification.
Glenn Coldenhoff – MXGP rider: “I am really happy to sign again with Standing Construct KTM. I had several interested teams but I know the Standing Construct team and the people behind the team for many years now and I know they work very professionally and have the same goals as me. Their way of working, together with the experience I have with KTM and the suspension manufacturer WP, guarantee me to be able to ride one of the best bikes in the MXGP paddock.”
Tim Mathys – Manager, Standing Construct KTM: “I am extremely happy to sign Glenn again. We experienced in the past what a dedicated and nice rider he is to work with, so he was absolutely a rider on top of our list. With him we have a top five contender in the MXGP World Championship, which is a logical step since making our team debut inside the MXGP class this year, and also to enhance our close cooperation with KTM for the coming years. Besides his great riding capabilities, Glenn is also – from a publicity point of view – a very interesting rider, which is important for our sponsors amongst who is our title sponsor Standing Construct.”
