Claiming back-to-back wins in hugely impressive style on the grand stage in the second 250SX East/West Showdown of the season, the Kiwi was absolutely brilliant at Lincoln Financial Field.
Having bagged third in qualifying and claimed second in his heat, which he led the majority of before getting beaten by Haiden Deegan in the closing stages, this set him up for an excellent main event.
While the restarted main threatened to throw a spanner in the works, Davies underlined his composure and exceptional skills to notably build a strong lead and manage the race like a veteran on a night where his maturity and professionalism yet again shone through and belied his years.
“It was a really good night for me. I was able to make some quick passes pretty early in the main and just rode my own race from there. To win an East-West Showdown in my rookie season is an amazing accomplishment for me, but the work doesn’t stop there. We’re back to work next week. Let’s keep this momentum going,” explained a delighted Davies.
The victory moves him into second in the 250SX West point standings and still in with a shot of reeling in the 17-point gap to teammate Deegan.
