With the shot clock at :01 and just before the buzzer – our single-race-only rider Carter Stephenson put CREO on the map and we now have 2 SX championship points in the books. Words: Jeff Crutcher – CREO Team Principal
Our fellow Missourian qualified P22 in timed qualifying from 250 C group, then finished 11th in his heat race and ultimately clinched our position in the main with a 3rd in the LCQ.
The LCQ was uneventful, and a showcase of racecraft and veteran savvy from the 824 after Viney went down in the first corner and opened a hole for Carter to claim 2nd for half the race before being passed by Taylor, where he held onto 3rd with wise riding.
In the main, after being completely spent from the heat and LCQ Carter smoothly sailed his way to a P20 and collected 2 championship points. A first for the team, and for himself.
In the premier 450 class, Jorgen qualified P38 and put himself into the night show in his first 450 attempt. He started excellent in his heat race, and was well within the top 10 on the first lap. He eventually faded, then had a collision with another rider resulting in a bruised him, ending his night. Jorgen told me after the heat race: “I was going through the first rhythm section and said to myself ‘Holy shit I’m behind Eli Tomac!”
After feeling exhausted from a November through May race campaign, this weekend was the shot in the arm I really needed to cap off the season.
Also, Denver fan interaction was absolutely off the chain. The Rocky Mountain crowd was eating up the CREO autograph session and promo product giveaways. I think it was the best of the year and the most impactful.
Thank you, and I hope you feel the same accomplishment that I do with another well executed season and our best ever.

I now begin the build of the season-in-review dossier. I hope to have it finished within the week. This book will serve as the look into the past, as well as the preview into the future for the team.
