We are delighted to announce that the 5th and penultimate round of the 2024 championship will return to the north east of Scotland on the 27th and 28th of July at the stunning Woodside circuit on the outskirts of Elgin.
Following a site visit in November a lot work has gone on behind the scenes to get the councils blessing for adequate parking for this event and we are delighted to say they are now on board.
Special thanks to Rae Cameron, Paul Edwards, the Grampian Moto-cross club and of course SACU – Motorcycle Sport Scotland for their patient work behind the scenes to make this happen.
Having grown up a couple of miles from this track I can tell you that Morayshire is a stunningly beautiful part of the world and that drive up through the mountains in the height of summer will be a real treat.
This is one of the best maintained venues you could possibly wish for. We will therefore focus work on grooming the existing layout which will remain. Widening a few areas, reinstating soil that has been displaced over time, chamfering the banks off for safety in the wooded area, a little crown raising of those trees for better viewing and slowing the long straight down a touch. I believe this will be all it takes to have the track looking fit for a Grand Prix.
Getting to have a beer with your mates on a summer evening and watching that sprinkler system working away, what more could you ask for – motocross at its best.
