Rising Motorsports Husqvarna speedster Zac Watson has headed Stateside to race the second round of AMA Pro Motocross at Hangtown.
Having proven his class and held his own in ProMX battling it out with the heavy hitters in the stacked MX1 category, Watson excitingly has taken the opportunity to test himself at the elite level in America in the 450 division. Set to compete against fellow Australians in the form of Jett Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence and Brad West, this will add a nice subplot and surely inspire more riders from their homeland to test themselves in America.
Following a path travelled by many from Down Under, Watson, who currently sits ninth in the MX1 standings, cut a delighted figure when speaking about the adventure. “The trip to America started as a talk with my boss from AMAC Cranes Group with me saying ‘Imagine being able to race a round of the pro motocross this year?’. Now it’s turned into reality and I couldn’t be more excited or thankful for the opportunity. The support I’ve received from everyone back home in Australia is incredible and I can’t wait to live a life long dream and have a good time doing it,” explained the 19-year-old to Live Motocross.
A regular top 10 runner, very consistent and improving all the time, it’ll be fascinating to see how the talented Australian fares.
