British rider Finley Evans is looking to make a good impression this weekend in Italy for the 2019 FIM Junior World Motocross Championship representing Great Britain along with 14 other riders across the 65cc, 85cc and 125cc categories.
Here’s what Finley had to say when we caught up with him.
How does it feel to be competing for Team GB in the 2019 FIM Junior World Motocross Championship in Italy?
“I am really excited to be competing this year for Team GB in the World Championships. I had no idea I was going to be picked so it’s a bit of a shock to be honest.”
Have you been getting much bike time in before the journey over and have you managed to get much training in?
“Since finding out about the World’s. I have been lucky that School have let me have time off so I have been out with Ashley Wilde and RMJ Academy trying to get as much bike time as possible. I try and exercise 3 times a week after school doing weights, rowing and running.”
Have you looked at the track, which you will be competing at and if so what are your thoughts on it?
“I have been watching as many videos as I can on YouTube. The track looks mega. I can’t wait to ride on it.”
Looking ahead to this weekend what are your plans?
“I would really like to score points for Team GB but just going to focus on trying to qualify and see how it goes.”
Finally why should the people back home get behind the team this weekend?
“It will really help life the team to be supported by everyone back home. It’s a big deal and we need everyone to be behind us to help get as many points as possible.”
