The AO Arena in Manchester provided the first indoor venue for the 2024 UK Arenacross Tour on Saturday with Harri Kullas, Elliot Banks-Browne and Jake Preston all representing the FUS Marsh Geartec Racing Team. And yes, they maybe the David taking on the Goliath in race team terms, but what a great start they were to make in the 2024 series!
Making his FUS debut, Harri Kullas was to eventually bag a fantastic 2nd place in the main final. Harri even led the affair for five laps before rear shock issues stopped his chances of victory. Earlier in the day, Harri did score his first FUS win when taking top spot in the third qualifying heat.
Elliot had comfortably qualified for the final with a brace of third placings in the qualifying heats. In the final he then produced another strong ride, holding 6th until crashing and eventually finishing 9th.
For Jake, it was a couple of 6th placings in the heats which meant that he then had to contest the head-to-head and the last chance qualifier in an attempt to earn his place in the final. Unfortunately, Jake missed out on this occasion but certainly gave it his usual 100% effort.
Well done to all of the FUS team and its now onto round 3 at Belfast on the 19th and 20th of January.
“Great start to the @arenacrossuk season. 2-1 in heat races. 2nd in the final. Great event in Manchester with an awesome crowd, hope to see a lot of you in 2 weeks time in Belfast! Cheers to my team @fus_racingteam and to my mechanic @jondennis58. Thanks for everyone behind me and the team! – Harri Kullas
