The team to watch – Gabriel Motocross – has today confirmed that its star riders – John Adamson, Liam Knight and Josh Peters – have all declared their commitment to the team for another season.

John will be changing classes to ride in the MX2 category, Liam will remain in MX1 and Josh will be competing in the AMCA Championships.

Pre-season training is already underway to prepare for what is hoped will be a full return to the busy racing calendar, after the disruption caused by the pandemic this year. Despite several race cancellations and a pause on training in the height of the nationwide lockdown in March, the Gabriel Motocross team sped to victory in the season’s final event with John securing 8th place in the championship overall.

Regarding his decision to stay with Gabriel Motocross, Liam said, “The team knows exactly what we need to be able to improve and never stop learning. With Simon Gabriel’s support as well as incredible bikes to ride, great engines and suspension and good people and brands who we work along side- this all makes it a lot easier to push to the next step.”

The team now has its sights on an even better performance in 2021. All riders have mapped out a busy training schedule for the first three months of the year leading up to the start of the season, which includes riding, rowing and running. John and Liam will also be spending all of January in Spain at the team’s dedicated training centre.

John commented, “I’m most excited about the new challenge of racing in a the MX2 Class. I feel the team has everything in place to make me as prepared as possible for the up and coming season. Evo-tech has made a very competitive race bike for us and I feel the combination of the two stands me in good stead for achieving my best results next year.”

Commenting on the team’s hopes for the season ahead, Team Manager Simon Gabriel said, “This year tested the resilience and patience of everyone on the Gabriel Motocross team but we’re thrilled to be able to prepare for what looks like the return of the Motocross schedule we know and love. With that in mind, our team is raring to go to deliver their best performance yet next season and I can’t wait for our fans to see it.”

In addition to smashing records next season, the team is keen to continue their goal of raising awareness of Motocross and attracting new fans to the sport, via PR and social media activity.
