The MXGP of Great Britain didn’t go to plan for Jago Geerts, as he disappointingly suffered a broken toe and a twisted ankle. Words: Live Motocross Editor

”Had a hard crash in the first moto, ended up with a broken big toe and a twisted ankle. The healing process begins! See you soon,” he posted.

Having achieved his best result of the season in Latvia at the previous round by securing fourth, Geerts was hoping to keep up his promising recent momentum, which also saw him win a qualifying race in Lugo last month.

Having begun his weekend at Matterley Basin in unsatisfactory fashion, with a mechanical issue forcing him to retire early, before his nasty crash on Sunday brought his GP to a premature end, it was certainly an event to forget for the Belgian.

The upcoming three-week break ahead of the MXGP of Finland comes at an ideal time, however, giving him the opportunity to rest and recover in his quest to get back behind the gate.
