Following his nasty crash at the MXGP of Italy in the Qualifying Race, Josh Gilbert’s Gabriel SS24 KTM team has confirmed he’s suffered a dislocated shoulder. Despite showing some promising speed on Saturday on his way to banking ninth in timed practice just behind Jorge Prado and Glenn Coldenhoff, this setback came at a terrible moment in what’s been a tough season for the Brit.
“Unfortunately during yesterday’s RAM qualifying race Josh was caught up in a first turn start crash, which resulted in a dislocated shoulder. Due to this being the first occurrence he has been ruled out of racing by the medical team. We will get it scanned this week to make a clear plan of action moving forward, Josh and everyone in the team are gutted with the news, but we will again work hard to get back asap,” read the team’s statement.
We wish him all the best for a swift recovery in his pursuit to get back out there sooner rather than later.
