Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Team MXGP star Maxime Renaux has provided an update on his foot injury that’s caused him problems since last year and that’s forced him to miss the majority of this term and the 2023 season.
“Actually, the foot is going in the right direction,” he explained. “Finally, we found the problem. There was basically a plate inside the foot that was wrongly positioned from a wrong intervention at first and it was hitting on the bone and basically digging a hole in the bone. So they had to really clean everything, but now it’s right.
“So the foot is healing in a good way. We’re finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel, let’s say. So yeah, we’re getting there soon and should be on the bike I guess for some enduro and easy riding. And then the goal is to hopefully do some races this season, that would be really nice.”
More to follow, but it’s definitely exciting to hear that he could be back on the gate soon after an extremely challenging last two campaigns.
