Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing regretfully announces that Jason Anderson sustained a broken clavicle a minor acromioclavicular joint separation this week during practice and will be unable to race the upcoming Muddy Creek MX National and several subsequent rounds. Anderson’s clavicle, commonly known as the collar bone, is broken in three different places. He will receive treatment this coming week.
Due to the severity of the multiple fractures to his clavicle, recovery time for his injury is an estimated 6-8 weeks.
“Unfortunately, injuries are a part of our sport and you never want to see any rider on any team get hurt. Jason has spent his entire pro career with me and this is his first injury that will keep him out of competition in six years. Considering the severity of the crash we feel fortunate it is only the collar bone which will require surgery and a minor AC separation; that according to his doctors will heal on its own over the coming weeks,” said Team Manager, Bobby Hewitt.
Anderson has shown he has the speed, talent, and determination to stand tall on the podium. Coming off of a second-place-finish high at the High Point MX National, the news is crushing to the athlete, but he will remain optimistic.
“I’m really bummed about this injury. I feel like I was building some momentum and last weekend’s 2nd was the best outdoor overall of my career. I feel pretty lucky however after one of the worst crashes of my life and not missing a race in 6 years. Sometimes these things happen. I can only stay positive and see how the recovery goes. I’m hoping to come back before the Nationals are over,” explained Anderson.
The team will move on to the next round at Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, TN where riders Zach Osborne, Martin Davalos, and Christophe Pourcel will represent team Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing.
The entire Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team wishes El Hombre a quick recovery.
