Husqvarna’s Jed Beaton had an outstanding day of racing at Mantova for the first of three rounds at the popular Italian circuit. Beaton ended the day on a high after taking the final moto win and ending up on the podium in second place.

Live Motocross caught up with Jed following the weekend to see how he feels about it the first Mantova round and looking ahead to tomorrows MXGP of Citta di Mantova.

Fantastic riding at Mantova for the first of three rounds being held at the circuit. You ended up on the podium with a second overall. How does that feel and how did the day go for you overall?

“It feels awesome to be on the podium again overall the day was okay, average first moto but pulled myself together for the second race and scored my first race win.”

Opening race was a tough one with a lot of water being put down on the track, you finished up 7th for the first moto. How was it for you?

“Yeah they put a lot of water, I think more than what was needed. I had a bad start and ripped all 21 tear offs by lap 7, so couldn’t do too much after that but my feeling was pretty good and I had confidence for the second race.”

Second moto well what can we say some fantastic riding. You battled hard against Watson to that the lead part way through the race. There was some close battles going on. How was the second moto?

Yeah 2nd moto felt great, passed for the lead on lap 3 or 4 and led for the rest of the moto felt awesome to be out front and enjoying my riding it’s hard to ride like you normally would mid pack.

If there is one thing you would change or work on for Wednesday what would it be?

“It would be my starts that I would work on”

Finally we are back racing on Wednesday for the MXGP of Citta di Mantova, what’s your thoughts and plans now moving into the tenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship?

“My thoughts and plans are not different it’s the sake go in with a good mindset and have fun, make the most of it.”
