2021 ACU British Womens Motocross Championship Champion Elaine MacEachern headed across to the MXGP of Spain on the weekend to compete in the penultimate round of the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship.

In free practice Elaine put in some strong laps to get 15th overall however during the session Elaine landed on a jump but didn’t crash and managed to break her tibia and fibula.

“Well, the report I am writing from my weekend at the Womens World Spain GP is not the one I was expecting at all. In the free practice, first thing on the Saturday morning, I unfortunately landed a jump in a way that resulted in me breaking my tibia and fibula in my leg and was out of the game for the rest of the weekend, I never crashed but I knew something wasn’t right. I got xrays at the track, then put into a cast and strapped by the motocross medics and was flown back on Sunday night to Scotland. I am just out of surgery to plate the bones and begin the road to recovery. It is fair to say that I am absolutely devastated with the outcome of the weekend. Shit luck! I’m sorry to have let everyone down, I will come back stronger and faster, it has only made me more hungry for it, bring on rehab and to an even better 2022.”

We wish Elaine a speedy recovery!
