I keep mentioning it and I will repeat it again. Whether you are a racer or not, this lockdown period is a great opportunity to grow mentally and physically.
While lots of riders feel lost, demotivated or chilling in their backyard – (as if they are sunning it up on the Greek island), you could grab this opportunity to develop yourself further not only as an athlete but as a person too. Use this down time to recover from an injury, maintain building your fitness level, and psychological face your mental demons in order to build more confidence and mental resilience when the time comes to face the start gate again.

You may say “Come on dude it’s not the same, you can’t train properly without gym equipment” and you may conjure up a gazillion excuses. Instead, divert your energy and focus into finding a qualified coach that doesn’t talk nonsense on social media to help you. We can help you! Don’t look for a cop-out..This period of calm is also a great opportunity to reassess your goals and to make sure that your training still has a purpose – that YOU have a purpose!
So when the lockdown is over, you’ll get back on your dirt bike and smash it better than ever! Remember lockdown is NOT forever. Already few countries are beginning to reopen tracks and allow riders to get back to training (e.g. Sweden, Belgium and Greece).
So what the take home message…
1) Re-assess and a set new goals closer to the end of the season.
2) Adapt to what you can do in the near future.
3) Keep developing on what you can control
4) Keep that motivation, fire and drive for success roaring.
And finally remember small wins lead to big wins. Out!
