With the surprise signing of MXGP superstar Evgeny Bobryshev Lombard Express Suzuki with Par Homes are shooting for success in the 2018 ACU Maxxis British Motocross Championship.
2017 was a mixed year for the Neil Prince led Suzuki squad as their principal rider, Kevin Wouts, suffered what turned out to be a season long injury at the opening round of the British championship. The team drafted in Neville Bradshaw to replace the injured Wouts until his return at the famous Foxhill circuit for the final round of the season.
With the signing of Bobryshev for 2018 Lombard Express Suzuki with Par Homes have reaffirmed their commitment to success after a quiet season and will be looking to reach the top of the podium once again. With the big Russian’s GP pedigree and experience he will most certainly be considered a favourite heading into the season. Although, he will face stiff competition from the likes of Tommy Searle, Jake Nicholls and the reigning champion, Graeme Irwin.

Bobryshev has not competed on the British scene since 2010 and will have to relearn the circuits that his competitors know very well, however the Russian does have the experienced and accomplished Neil Prince in his corner as team manager to offer advice should he need it. The duo work well together and have been building upon an already solid relationship throughout the off-season as they competed in the Arenacross UK series.

Bobryshev’s unconventional off-season saw him racing indoors and starting his outdoor prep slightly later than usual. Evgeny will carry this unconventionality into the season as he races both the MXGP World Championship and the Maxxis British Motocross Championship for two separate teams. Prince travelled to Argentina alongside Bobryshev for round one of the world championship to offer his advice and services. Bobryshev scored a 12th place overall in his first serious outdoor race onboard the RM-Z 450.  The pair have now returned to Europe to prepare for the opening round of the British Championship, with his solid performance in the southern hemisphere Bobryshev will be looking to carry that momentum to the Cadders Hill circuit.

Prince is quietly confident as the season opener looms before us, ‘‘I’m really looking forward to the weekend. We’ve just returned from Argentina, so this week has been a little busy getting all the stuff that we need to go racing ready in time. We will be heading to Lyng with the goal of being on the podium at the end of the day, Bobby’s performance in Argentina certainly proved that this can be done.  I would just like to personally thank all our sponsors who have come together to make this 2018 season happen.’’

Evgeny Bobryshev hopes for good race conditions at Lyng, ‘‘I’m looking forward to the British Championship this weekend. I know the track so the main thing for me is that the weather stays good. Hopefully we won’t have any snow or rain and we’ll be able to enjoy the racing.’’

Evgeny Bobryshev and his Lombard Express Suzuki with Par Homes team will be lining up at Lyng ready to take on the best of Britain.
