The 2017 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship Organiser of the Year Award has been announced.
With the 2017 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean now in the history books, ACU Events Ltd were left to select the Organiser of the Year. A difficult task given the high standards achieved by the various Organisers.
The Series was hosted by eight different Organisers who all ensured preparations were at the highest standard which demonstrated and justified why the British Championship is regarded as one of the premier domestic Motocross Series in Europe.
For the second year in a row the Woodbridge and District Motorcycle Club hosted Round Six of the Championship at Blaxhall circuit in Suffolk and have been awarded the prestigious title of Maxxis Organiser of the Year for 2017.
Since their involvement with the British Championship in 2015, Woodbridge have continued with ambition to improve on making the venue a firm favourite for riders and race fans alike.
Series Manager Stuart Drummond commented by saying, “The dedication and outstanding work was shown by every promoter and organiser which always makes the decision process difficult when standards are set so high in the first place. The decision was reached and the honours went to the Woodbridge Club for presenting an exceptional event that culminated every aspect of a well organised Maxxis British Championship Round.”
Speaking on behalf of the Woodbridge & DMCC, Debbie Blyth said, “As a club it is a great honour to have been given this award for the second time running. When we received the award for the 2016 season we knew that we would have to work extremely hard to retain the title for 2017 and this makes all the hard work worthwhile. We always pride ourselves on producing the best events that we can for the riders, teams, spectators and our valued local sponsors. Over the last three seasons we feel this has been achieved and we will continue to look at making more improvements to enhance peoples experience at the event in 2018 and beyond.”
Woodbridge & DMCC will receive their award at the Annual ACU Awards & Presentations evening at the National Motorcycle Museum on Saturday 13th January.
