It’s been a busy day of news regarding Maxime Renaux, for not only was he confirmed to be on Team France for the 2024 Motocross of Nations, but he also revealed he’ll be returning to racing at the MXGP of Switzerland this weekend following a lengthy injury layoff.
“New selection in the French team for the Motocross of Nations 2024, looking forward to it. I also announce my comeback to racing this weekend at the MXGP of Switzerland,” he explained.
Coming back at an ideal time so he can gather vital momentum and recapture some form ahead of MXoN, an event he won with France last year on home soil, it’ll be fascinating to see how he fares after going through a brutal recovery from his foot issue.
“Actually, the foot is going in the right direction,” he explained recently. “Finally, we found the problem. There was basically a plate inside the foot that was wrongly positioned from a wrong intervention at first and it was hitting on the bone and basically digging a hole in the bone. So they had to really clean everything, but now it’s right.
“So the foot is healing in a good way. We’re finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel, let’s say. So yeah, we’re getting there soon and should be on the bike I guess for some enduro and easy riding. And then the goal is to hopefully do some races this season, that would be really nice.”
Given he was victorious at the Swiss GP last year, this will give him a nice boost that he can enjoy a successful weekend at the office in his pursuit to recapture his rhythm as quickly as possible before the MXoN at Matterley Basin in October.
