Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Marvin Musquin headed to Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah for an exciting penultimate round to the 2018 AMA Supercross series. Musquin stayed focused despite a difficult and dry track as he pulled out his fourth victory in the 450 class aboard his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION. In doing so he gained valuable points in the series and maintains his position at second in 450 rider point standings.
Musquin was top-three at the start of his heat and was on the move. He stalked Blake Baggett and took the line in the first lap to move into the lead. He pulled a nice gap and took the win to transfer to the 450 Main Event. He was second at the start of the Main then made the pass for the lead in the second lap. Looking smooth, he started pulling a gap as he charged ahead of the field. He held his ground and claimed another impressive victory. He currently sits second overall in 450 rider point standings heading into what promises to be an exciting final round of the series.
Musquin: “The track conditions were crazy and dry, but the track crew did a good job. I had no idea about Jason. Obviously towards the end I was going through lappers, and I knew Jason would take it easy today to get points, but I only knew how he did when the race was over. I’m excited to head to the final round in Vegas next week.”
250SX West
Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Shane McElrath claimed victory in the 250SX West Championship with an impressive ride. McElrath got a great start and made the pass for the lead early in the race aboard his KTM 250 SX-F and stayed consistent to claim the win. He heads to the season finale in Las Vegas fourth in 250SX West rider point standings.
