We caught up with a number of riders from the 2020 Hawkstone International to see how it went for them.

Joel Rizzi #912 (EMX125)

“It was a good day at Hawkstone International. I won race one and just controlled the race. Race two I got second, Liam was on another level in the mud but I am happy with that.”

“I had a good day at Hawkstone International. I had to dig deep in both races but really enjoyed it. Thanks to all the team at RHR Yamaha for helping getting the bike to the finish.”

“I had a not so good time practice with a P6. I was not feeling good on the track. First moto I had a bad start around 25 place but worked my way up. I felt a lot better in moto one and the track was not as wet. Second moto I was fifth into the start and rode to 2nd place but then landed off track and lost my position, but got third.”

Josh Gilbert #3

“Overall a positive day at Hawkstone International. Until you actually get behind the gate and race you don’t really know where your at. I feel after Sunday I am in a good position. There is a couple of things to work on to get right for Matterley Basin but overall I am happy.”

“Hawkstone crew did an awesome job to run the event in those conditions. It was gnarly but hard work, hard to see the bumps for the puddles but had fun.”

“First race of the year riding and first race of the year as team manager it was good. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season with a race win with a third place for a tided overall win. Happy to get things rolling and feeling very comfortable on the bike. The track was pretty difficult, but overall had a fantastic start to the season. Big thanks to everyone who has made it possible and all my sponsors that are onboard this year and letting us go racing.”
