The Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha Racing team was on fire at the second round of the series in Houston. Aaron Plessinger dominated the main and took his first win of the season, even after a tenth-place start.    Mitchell Oldenburg battled for the lead throughout the first heat and ended up taking second. In the main he got caught in a start pile up. His consistent speed lap after lap allowed him to finish in sixth. The team’s rookie, Justin Cooper, qualified eighth. However, he was unable to make the main due to a crash in qualifying.

250 Practice 1 Group A:

Aaron Plessinger: 3rd, 55.626

Mitchell Oldenburg: 6th, 56.216

Justin Cooper: 4th, 55.876

 

250 Practice 2 Group A:

Aaron Plessinger: 3rd, 54.018

Mitchell Oldenburg: 4th, 54.817

Justin Cooper: 8th, 54.801

 

Overall Best Qualifying times:

Aaron Plessinger had the third fastest lap time, with a time of 54.018. Mitchell Oldenburg’s time of 54.817, placed him fourth. Justin Cooper qualified eighth overall, with a time of 54.801.

Round three of the Monster Energy Supercross will return to Anaheim on January 20, 2018. Aaron Plessinger will go into the third round with the red plate. Mitchell Oldenburg now lies in seventh in the championship. Justin Cooper drops to fifteenth and he will unfortunately not be lining up at A2 due to injury.
