This Sunday September 10th the St Blazey Mx Premier Motocross Championship makes its way down to Whiteway Barton, Kingsteignton in Devon for the penultimate round in the series. This will be only the second time this venue has been used this season which for sure will be in prime condition as always.

In the St Blazey Mx Expert Championship it’s the Tony Maunders Racing Suzuki of Jamie Skuse who has a 94 points lead in the Championship over Dan Thornhill on the Cab Screens Husqvarna with Kelvin Townsend on the Tony Maunders Racing Yamaha just 31 points adrift of Thornhill in 3rd, but they will be up against it as joining them will include the likes of Todd Kellett on the Hitachi Construction KTM who took both race wins at the last round, Josh Gilbert on the Dave Thorpe Off Road Centre Honda will also be in attendance as will wildcard entry 2017 Patchquick Trophy winner Jake Shipton on the RHR/Crescent Racing Yamaha who for sure will be in the mix of it with other riders including Jordan Carter, Luke Sturgeon on the D S C Cornwall Kawasaki, Ben Cryer, James Kensington, Ben Hunt and Tom Moore to name a few with more expected.

In the R C Motorhomes 2-Stroke MX1 Championship Leighton Holmes last year’s Champion on the J D Racing KTM has a 22 points lead over the JCT Developments/Inchains Yamaha of Ben Milward with Henry Ebbutt there in 3rd, but only just as just 5 points adrift of Ebbutt is Gareth Northam who will be looking to close that deficit. In the MX2 2-Stroke Championship its Young 15 year old Tom Darlow on the 125 N D Cycles KTM who heads the standings by some margin and could well clinch the MX2 2-Stroke title at the weekend with a round to spare.

In the Over age classes its TyreMarks/St Blazey Mx Honda of Wayne Shimell who still heads the Over 35 Championship by 41 points from Darren Banwell on the Cheddar Mx KTM with Tim Pearce there in 3rd, but right on his tail just 8 points adrift is Luke Dewey on the New Milton Tyres Suzuki, whereas in the Over 40’s Class its last year’s Champion Stuart Rawlings who leads, but he had his lead cut to 35 points at the last round by Leigh Williams who for sure will be looking to do the same again at Whiteway. In the Over 45’s can anyone beat the T R Green Engineering Husqvarna of Richard Green who has yet to lose a race and in the Over 50’s Steve Elford who rode with an injured hand at the last round had his lead cut by 6 points by David Ford on the Projuice KTM who now trails Elford by 15 points and will be looking to do the same again if not more on home soil.

The JCT Developments Junior Championship its Jordan Barrs who still heads the standings by 35 points from Jamie Dixon with Luke Oldfield 11 points behind Dixon in 3rd, but things are tight for 4th as Ross Parkinson only has a 1 point advantage over Ross Kersey who is in top form at the moment and for sure will be looking to move up the standings at Whiteway, but a rider to beat for sure will be early Championship leader before breaking his collarbone Jake Curtis-Stevens who is back on form and took both race wins at the shortened last round and sits just 15 points behind Kersey in 6th.

Whiteway Barton is an excellent viewing track and has easy access and parking and will be signposted off the A380 Exeter to Newton Abbot Road (Postcode TQ12 3QF) with all the action getting under way at 10-30am.
