This weekend Judd KTM British 125cc Championship rider Luke Hull will be competing at Assen for the 2019 YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup SuperFinale.

It is fantastic to see a British Youth Championship rider being picked to compete in the event. Luke will battle it out one race where the top three finishers in each race and two wildcards will move to the final unique Yamaha bLU cRU Masterclass which will take place later this year under the watchful eye of bLU cRU Ambassadors Jeremey Seewer, Arnaud Tonus and Gautier Paulin. From there one lucky rider will win the ultimate prize of receiving support in the 2020 European Championship.

We caught up with Luke Hull ahead of this weekend to see how he is feeling about going to Assen to compete for this fantastic opportunity with Yamaha.

Can you tell us how you got to be picked for this weekend’s SuperFinale at Assen?

“I applied for the bLU cRU before the season started since, I wanted to give it a go and see if I could make it to the SuperFinale race. I wasn’t expecting to get the news I got.”

How do you feel about being picked for the event?

“I feel really lucky to be picked for this and happy that my hard work this season has paid off. To be asked by Yamaha is amazing and I think it’s great that they try to help out the riders of their product to get their names out there in Europe. I am really looking forward to racing at Assen since I probably won’t get the chance to race there again let alone alongside the MXoN.”

Can you tell us a bit about your plans for the weekend?

“My plans are to give it my all and just see where I come since I don’t know who’s racing alongside for the ultimate support package from Yamaha. I would be really happy with a top 20 finish, but the main thing is to enjoy it and use it to improve my riding and experience.”

We would like to wish Luke the best of luck this weekend.
