British 85cc riders will get the chance to take on their Irish counterparts in a high-profile, one-off competition as part of the programme for round five of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean at Desertmartin on June 30.

The races – open to pilots of small and big-wheeled machines – will make up the support class, giving the youth riders the chance to showcase their skills on the famous sand circuit in front of the UK industry’s main movers and shakers.

“It’s a very exciting prospect,” said Series Manager Stuart Drummond. “While there hasn’t been a GP at Desertmartin for a number of years it’s universally recognised as a world-class circuit and I’m delighted that we’re giving Britain’s brightest young talents the chance to race there.

“There are some seriously fast young riders on both sides of the Irish Sea and I know I’m not the only one looking forward to seeing them banging bars around one of the best tracks in Europe.”

Due to the anticipated popularity of the event there will only be limited spaces available which will be available from today by calling 01788 566404 or via www.ride-acu.uk/
