Fresh off his second-career overall podium finish, in which he captured his second-ever moto win, GEICO Honda rookie Hunter Lawrence announced via Instagram that he will miss this weekend’s action at the MotoSport.com Washougal National. The Australian rider stated that he suffered an injury in a freak training accident, but also suggested that it might require surgery, which would undoubtedly extend his absence from competition.
Through eight rounds this season, Lawrence had posted a pair of overall podium results, at High Point and Spring Creek, which both came on the heels of his two moto wins in 2019. He currently sits tied for fourth in the 250 Class standings with Colt Nichols, and has been the highest standing rider for GEICO Honda.
