With 2015 well and truly behind us now, 2016 has started impressively with the Monster Energy Supercross and the outdoor season openers at Hawkstone Park, Italian Championship and Valence in France.

Edition 3 of ‘Live Motocross’ had its fun and games putting it together, the racing from the USA wasn’t a problem but I didn’t make it to the Be Wiser Hawkstone International due to jetlag, flying in from California on the Friday left me exhausted, so thanks to Ray Archer and Rick Blyth for some cracking shots and getting me out of the mire.

As I mentioned already the Supercross has been outstanding and a joy to watch, Ryan Dungey has been riding impeccably in the 450’s and Cooper Webb who sometimes grinds a little on fans with his attitude is on another level in the 250 class, very impressive.

With the MXGP season only 2 weeks away with the first round being in floodlit Qatar, all eyes will be on Tony Cairoli who is currently sidelined with a rib injury, can the 8 time world champion regain his championship from the impressive 2015 MXGP World Champion Romain Febvre or can someone like Clement Desalle finally find himself at the top of the points table come September 11?
As the old saying goes you can’t win the championship at round 1 but you can certainly lose it.
