ACU Championships Round1 – Festival of Power at Santa Pod Raceway

Rain and strong wind disrupted the opening round of the 2016 ACU Championships.  Good Friday was the best day of the three -day event.  Saturday and Sunday saw racers facing strong cross wind and head wind and rain fell late afternoon on Sunday bringing the meeting to an end with only Super Street bike completing their first round of eliminations.

Tomlin Claims Victory at Dave Roper Memorial Event

A Sunny and windy day greeted the 106 riders for the seventh Dave Roper Memorial Event this year being a Cross Country Enduro for the first time being held at Foxborough Quarry Sible Hedingham.  A fresh course was constructed with a Spinney, open hilly fields with lots of cambers to emulate the legendry Tye Farm track.

Blaxhall returns to action this Sunday

This Sunday (April 17th) sees the Woodbridge & DMCC host their first Motocross meeting of the season at the Blaxhall circuit near Woodbridge with the event being supported by Orwell Truck and Vans. A 160 rider strong entry and exciting 12 race programme featuring both Expert and Junior graded riders along with the second round of the NGR Championship it is sure to produce a full day of racing action on the sandy circuit.

Statement following investigation into MXY2 incident at Lyng

Four members of the Motocross Committee (which included the series Race Director) in addition to the ACU Events Series Manager and the Clerk of the Course for the event were present together with an eye witness who unfortunately did not observe the incident in its entirety. Several written reports were also available including a statement from the Assistant Clerk of the Course who was the first official to attend the incident.

Trail Bike Championship Update

When the ACU’s Trials and Enduro Committe’s list of events for the various championships were announced, the Trail Bike Championship list included the Ivor Morkott Trial, normally organised by the Caerphilly Club in Wales. However due to reduced sources within the club, they have been unable to confirm that this year’s event is able to be held, so therefore, with regret the Trail Bike Championship has been reduced to three rounds.
