Michelin MX Nationals Heads to Pontrilas for Round 2 – 7th and 8th May

Round 2 of the Michelin MX Nationals has been re-scheduled and re-located after Landrake was cancelled due to the weather conditions. The second round will now take place at Pontrilas, HR2 0BG, on the 7th and 8th May. Riders who were entered into Landrake will automatically be transferred to Pontrilas.

ACU Eastern Enduro Championship returns to action on Sunday 8th May

After a break of two months the 2016 G H Motorcycles/Husqvarna/ACU Eastern Enduro Championship resumes on Sunday 8th May the venue being Foxborough Quarry Halstead Road Sible Hedingham Essex. It will be run on the Hare and Hounds format and this year there will be only one session of three hours for all six Classes instead of the Classes being split into two sessions. The Championship Class will be first away at 10am followed at 30 second intervals by the Expert, Expert Veteran, C….

THORNHILL TAKES OVERALL AT LITTLE SILVER

On Sunday May 1st the Phoenix Tools Premier motocross Championship made its first visit to Little Silver Moto Parc, Exeter for round 3 in the series which incorporated round 2 of the Evo/Super Evo Championship. Water had been put down the night before as well as early morning to put the track nigh on perfect for racing. There was many wildcards not just in the Experts, but also in the other classes which included MOTO GP rider Scott Redding who was in the juniors.

McLernon Claims Victory in the ATVS ONLY ACU British Quad Championship at Desertmartin

Bob Collier Trophy Charity MX – 8th May – Long Buckby

On Sunday 8th May the Northampton Motorcyclists Club will be hosting the Annual Bob Collier Trophy MX meeting at Long Buckby. Bob Collier was an enthusiastic NMCC club and committee member for over 25 years who loved all forms of motocross, competing in modern racing, sidecars and twinshocks. When Bob sadly passed away from Leukaemia in 2010 the Northampton Motorcyclists Club set up this event to honour his name and raise funds for Leukaemia Research (now called Bloodwise).

MAY DAY BRINGS CHALLENGING CONDITIONS

Round 2 of the Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Race Club Championship, held on Bank Holiday Monday provided racers with some very challenging conditions. The circuit, near Ashbourne, DE6 2ET, was dry when the racing got underway, but then a cloud burst at lunchtime changed conditions dramatically. However, it certainly didn’t dampen the action on track, with 6 races being decided by less than 1sec at the flag.

LAMPKIN REGAINS LEAD WITH TWO DAYS TO GO

Better weather arrived just in time for the longest route of the week, as the 2016 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) served up its typically demanding Thursday excursion that was over one hundred and twenty miles in total. Defending SSDT champion Dougie Lampkin – Vertigo proved he was equal to the challenge by not losing a single mark on the day and in doing so regained the overall lead with two days remaining.
